Does a dog behave differently to make us aware that it it needs worming ?

My dogs don't 'behave' differently but the obvious signs are eating normally and ravenously but not putting on any weight, and of course you have to inspect their faeces to see if they have worms in them. I worm my dogs every 6 months but you have to remember to give them a second tablet about a week to ten days later.
