cats ear infection

my cat has a small globule/sac just inside his ear. it seems to be attached by a thin strand of skin but if i try to touch it the cat becomes agitated to the point of biting

Are you sure its not a tick? Best thing is to take it to the vet if it is still there after the weekend, but if it is a tick, then it will probably have dropped off by then.
