Just a reminder - farmers can and do shoot dogs that are loose amongst their sheep, cows etc. Please be very careful where you walk/allow your dog to run off lead.
A long line is useful until you get a reliable recall, with this 'breed' of dog you could be waiting for a long time though!

I took on a 7 year old dog who was a nightmare at just about everything, but i got a recall lead about 30 metres and a retracable lead and used them and whilst walking her on the lead would stop and call her back with a treat, eventually she learnt if i stopped and called her name it meant i wanted her to come to me and most of all meant she got a treat!
God, I know the feeling alinic! My dog is still like it a year down the line, mine is a lab cross. We have just moved to the country and he is finding all sorts of ways to escape. Have tried loads of things, but doesn't seem to make a difference, so I take mine for walks on an extendable lead. Sorry to be of no help, but wanted you to know there is someone out there who knows how you feel.
