Hi lovely people. Not sure if I mentioned a while ago an incident involving a woman who lives down the back street where I walk Jack last thing at night (because it is well-lit, quiet etc. unlike my front street).
Essentially, she FALSELY accused me of not picking up after my dog (I do, and she hadn't seen any evidence to the contrary, as she'd never seen him "go")and then her and her son threatened to at their huge white boxer on me and Jack. It was late at night, I was going home to an empty house, and frankly I was bl**dy scared!
Anyway, I reported the incident, I didn't discover until tonight that the PC HAD managed to speak with the woman (well, he never told me!) but I don't know the outcome-PC is off sick.
Well, it happened again tonight, and I can't understand what her issue is. Serious attitude problem? Little woman syndrome? I reported her AGAIN, but I know nothing will come of it, and it is so frustrating. I mean Christ, I have never seen her walk or feed her dog, or indeed pick up its poo, but I am assuming she does all three!
I just wondered what motivates people to act the misguided vigilante. I mean, knowing someone doesn't "pick up" is an entirely different story and is well worth discussing with someone, as long as you don't endanger yourself or your dog-but she has no idea. So now it's late, and I am fed up and frustrated. I also know my partner will want to go round for a word, but that would interfere with the police procedures. Which will come to nothing until it happens again. ARGH! Where will it end, an injunction? I don't have the time for petty games, I have a life.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Some people should never be allowed to have an animal, let alone a dangerous one.

You've fulfilled your obligation by reporting it (twice) and this is potentially a life threatening situation. That the PC is sick or on holiday is no excuse. Just tell the police that you fear for your safety and if they have the case on the back burner you need to tell your local political representative and if still no joy go to the local paper.

This is not some misdemeanor, threatening someone with a dog is a serious offence and you have every right to expect prompt and efficient service from the police.

Darn right, wildwood! I am glad you see my POV, and appreciate your comments. It IS intimidation, and it definitely borders on harrassment now. She has no knowledge of me, I don't know her, and she needs to back off.

My partner wants to go round, still, but I am concerned it will turn the situation around a little. At the same time, I know the police will let it lie, and I am not prepred to let her think she can get away with it.
hiya i didn't see your other post .do you have evidence that the boxer is nasty/dangerous??
i would certainly insist that the police get someone else to take over the case from this sick PC. He could be off for months. If you don't get any where i would got to the local newspaper . It sounds like the police are fobbing you off.
This is anti - social behaviour, to put it mildly. Do these people live in a council house? If so , can the local authority do anything to help?
I know you should not have to, but if you are really frightened, and who can blme you? Could you not walk Jack in the other direction until this is sorted out?

Hello lovelies, thank you for your responses in my absence! Metz, nope, my friend who knows the family tells me the dog is a big softy, but my point wasn't that the dog was dangerous, it was just that they had threatened to set it on me.

sambro, yep definitely :S And totally unprovoked as well *sigh* some people! I am walking Jack up the lane rather than the street for now, but she apparently only visits there, rather than living there, now. So maybe we are safe from ranting middle aged women!

rox-I love Boxers! Jack doesn't though :( and we have no idea why! I think the most this dog may have done was lick us to death, but still! Humans, eh!
I will give you this lady's address ;)

My partner went round, spoke to the son-in-law, they shook hands, came to a mutual understanding, and I just asked the police to log it, rather than take action for now. especially as she has apparently moved out. The son-in-law said he would have a word, and appreciated that Steve came to him first.
Thanks for your concern everyone-until next time ;) x
