should a dog being 6 weeks pregnant start eating more food than normal?

You should increase the food slightly from the 6th week until by whelping they are on half as much again as usual, (so 300g instead of 200g, but a richer food than their maintenance diet). Some people use puppy milk in the last week
Give her higher protein food (complete puppy food is good) but split her feeds into about three per day so she is not uncomfortable. Only slightly increase her amount, and once the pups are born give her a calcium supplement as the pups will drain the calcium from her and she could suffer from eclampsia which can be fatal.
