Demodex - Staffy pup
5 Answers
For regular users of this section, you may know I have a seven month old staffy called Star with demodectic mange. This caused her to lose a lot of fur and become very pink on her skin.
Anyway, good news she is improving greatly and her fur is now growing back extremely quickly. For anybody else who has a puppy or dog with demodex then I cannot recommend Holland and Barrett Aloe Vera gel highly enough. We were advised to use this daily, all over her, by a lady who had two dogs with fox mange. We have been using it for nine days now and her fur has increased by about 50%, she is even growing fur on her neck, chest and belly where she had none at all.
We are so happy and just wanted to tell everyone about this fantastic product which seems to be working miracles.
Lankeela and Jules - she hasn't wee'd inside since she wee'd on the bed last Saturday and her nipples have gone back in again now, so I think we may have a little longer before her first season. The vet has advised the spay before her first season as the fur can be affected by the hormones and come out, which is something he doesn't want to happen. He is a very good vet and is a dermatology specialist so she is in the best hands.

I use aloe vera for loads of things, including really bad sun burn, think it is a must for our first aid box. Did you know you can also use it on dogs teeth and it will soften and remove tartar? (I use the one from Forever Living Products, but dont think there is any difference as long as it is pure aloe vera gel).
She is a lucky girl to have found such a lovely home as many people would have given up on her, well done.
