dog eating cat poo
my dog is driving me mad he wont stop eating the cats poo! he makes me feel sick and sometimes dont want him near me the thought of it, he cant be hungry he eats very well two big dinners and snacksa day.
The cat poo is cleaned up as soon as its done but it becomes hard to beat the dog to it when first thing in the morning if they went over night.
Does anyone know why dogs eat cats poo? i have been told it has nutrients in it but not sure if this true.
How can i get him to stop?
many thanks a stressed out chelsea

Couldn't you put some sort of barrier up like a stair gate in the room where the litter tray is kept so that the cat can get at it but the dog cant. Good luck!
Mine does it all the time, i have to clean her teeth daily it churns my stomach up thinking of the smell, I dont have a litter tray anymore and its a real job at 6.30 in the morning trying to watch the dog in the garden so i can stop her eating it, when dogs eat dog pooh they say put pineapple or Aubergines in it dogs dont like eating it then, but you cant very well give it a cat!!!
Mine does it too. It's gross. Makes me feel sick. And the smell is foul.
If you can get to the cat poo before your dog does, just a few times, I would suggest putting just a touch of tabasco or chilli powder or something on it to make it taste horrible. It shouldn't hurt the dog, but will maybe make it think twice about eating it in the future.
