Boxing film

I watched a film last night and can't remember it's name. It was a new release at my local video shop. It starred Meg Ryan as a boxers manager who makes the boxer all brilliant and stuff and he goes on to show that women make good boxing managers. It was a good film, and I'm not too bothered about the title but I just need to know the name of the boxer in it. His boxing name was Shaw. Help?

The Actors name is Omar Epps he plays Luther Shaw & the movie is called Against the ropes
