Hiya

So long as he is healthy and a good weight for his age, a male dog can be neutered from the age of 5 months - this can vary slightly on the discretion of your vet.

there's an interesting discussion in dogs monthly about this...some contributors suggest that neutering should be postponed until the dog has made his adult growth as neutering before then can affect the growth points of the bone welding securely when growth is complete, also that it can affect the ability of the dog to concentrate. In some breeds, early neutering can also affect the coat, making it fluffier.

I don't advocate neutering, but....i understand some people do want it done. Please wait until your dog is at least a year to 18months before doing it! If you do it at 5months, your dog will retain juvenile behaviours and will not develop properly! Do the research first! :-)
