Err... It is a problem. You should never allow your dog to lick you. Dogs have a totally different fauna in their digestive system that can cope with even putrified meat. Ours is more designed to cope with a vege diet.
Licking is one of the ways to tell you that the dog likes you and want to take care of you and clean you so you won't smell like a human but more like 'one of the tribe'. Some dogs do it more than others.
i havea nine month old staffie bitch..her favourite game is lickie lickie...and nibble the ear etc...i've owned staffies for over twenty years and they have all been very loving in this way....enjoy owning a very affectionate doggie! :)
My partner's mum's staffies are always trying to lick me. I really hate it. They seem to particularly like to lick me, when they've just eaten and smear dog food from their tongues onto my clothes. Other than that, they just snort or sneeze on me.
I've got three! They're gorgeous dogs, who love to be around people if they're treated correctly. Ours are as daft as brushes - and lick everyone to death!
I have heard a few things in regards to animals licking. One vet said it there way of showing affection. i have also hear that a dogs tongue is cleaner than our so it really should not be a problem.
