my hamster is ill

a week & 3 days ago i noticed that my little hamsters right eye is closed up.... and he also has lost some of his blance and there4 keeps falling onto his right side, his left eye also seems to be closing up a little bit, i am bathing both the eyes in sterile water and the left one seems a little after bit better, but the right eye still closed up,& is very stitky i am doing this dayly can i do any more any advice would be a great help, thankyou dawn ps i do not think it is dieing

Well, the falling over sounds like por little hamster is struggling to see where he's going...

If he has an eye infection, he may need to see the vet, although I'd persevere for now with the water: - if its helped the left eye a little then maybe with a little more time it will help the right one too?

my 13 week old runt hamster went through the same thing take her/him to the vets as your hamster has an eye infection and has most likely suffered a stroke. Minnie(my hamster) showed the exact same signs and she passed away shortly after.

I hope she gets better
