In season again??

My boxer puppy had her first season at the beginning of June. Since then her nipples have stayed large. Then at the weekend I noticed her vulva was getting swollen again and last night there she had a little bit of spotting. Could she be going into season again?? and if so is this normal??

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like she could be having a phantom pregnancy [assuming she definately didn't get caught and IS pregnant]. Is she nesting at all? Or being protective of her toys?

I'd get her checked by the vet in case it is pyometra, which is an infection of the womb, and would need spaying. At worst it can be fatal if left.

She's not nesting or being protective of her toys. Just quiet and a bit more clingy than normal. I wondered if it was a phantom pregnancy but wasn't sure if she would bleed with this or not.

Think I'll take her to the vet to be on the safe side.

Definitely sooner rather than later, especially if she seems a bit down or off her food. There are two types, open and closed pyometra, the open one is easier to treat, whereas the closed one can be nasty, and being closed often gets missed until its become a serious problem. Hope all goes well, please let us know. Fingers crossed it is something simple.

Hey just to let you know I took her to the Vets yesterday and she is fine, she has just gone into season again. The vet said it could be she's got a ovarian cyst which is playing about with her hormones but since we were planning on getting her spayed anyway then its nothing to worry about. We've just to take her back once the season has finished and get her dressed.
