My 10 month old cavalier king charles has gone missing, he was last seen be my at 6pm in the house and when i returned home at 7.40 he was no where to be seen, no either he's got out of the garden somehow or escaped through the door when my sons friend left around 6.45. On returning home i went out and scanned the area with a torch calling his name, came back home and phoned local police and animal warden... i'll do posters now to put up tomorrow...anything else i can do my daughter is heart broken

Oh so sorry to hear of this Fairie , you must be beside yourself with worry . Posters are a good idea , with his piccy , is he microchipped ? You can also ring round the local vets . Put a poster in your window and your local shop too . I do hope you find him or that he finds his way back home . xxx
Question Author
He's not microchipped as he was still too small at his 6 moth check, i was waiting till he'd grown a little more while also thinking about neutering. i was taking him back soon for chip just never got to it. we dont really have a local shop but will post in the nearest, not sure about radio as not sure what station people round here would listen to.. i hope someone has taken him in for the night, its getting cold and he's used to a warm bed with my other king charles.
where do you llive? You really should try the radio. Ring local dog pounds. Ring RSPCA, ring all local kennels and stay by back door tonight - he may come home on his own
Question Author
i asked the police was there anyone else i could call tonight and they said 'no' i know i can ring vets but that would be tomorrow, i live in runcorn cheshire so most people who listen to radio would be a manchester or liverpool radio not many listen to the local wire fm
Oh that is aweful Faire. I hope your little girl is ok. My heart goes out to you both.
107.2 Wire FM is your local station. 01925 431072. You have nothing to lose and if someone has the dog they mat be listening for such an announcement. It is common practice. Ignore the police and start ringing round as this little dog could have come to harm

Does he have a collar with ID on it?
Question Author
i'm currently trying to get through to radio station - thanks baileybird.

unfortunatly he has a collar on but no tag, i was stupid enough to think he wouldnt need one as i dont let him off lead!!
My 13 year old border collie went missing a few months ago. I live near the boundary of 2 counties, alert the dog warden of any neighbouring areas, mine was (happily) found where least expected. Got a right b*llocking cause she didn't carry any ID, both my dogs now have name tags. Hope your baby turns up, good luck, Wendy.
Question Author

A few years ago my back gate was opened by kids and my labrador got out . After a while I got a phone call from the ASDA store saying she had wandered in through the revolving doors and was obviously looking for me as I had been in the store just a couple of hours earlier .
I do hope you find him hun .
oh poor you.......i hope you hear some good news soon

Question Author
I'm really doubtful but only because i my cat went missing in August and she never came home, i know cats and dogs are different, but she was nearly 5!! my puppy is only 10 months what chance does he have
Question Author
now i feel like a terrible and careless pet owner!!! i do have another dog (5yr old) and another cat (5yr old) who are not trying to escape
Fairie, I'm sure someone has taken him in for the night by now.

contact all the local vets, etc in the morning and hopefully you'll get some good news.
Question Author
My husband has just come in from work and gone to do another search for him, at least if he is hanging around he might find him, then we'll have to call it a night and start again in the morning, thanks for your advice everyone xx
Pedigree dogs are often stolen to sell on in pubs. If tagged and taken to a vet and the vet makes a 'suspicious scan' you may get the dog returned. The only way to flush out dog-thieves is to advertise in local news. Put posters near pubs (dog-trading venues).

Hope ur lucky?
