lost my cat today
34 Answers
My wee Tonka had to get put down today and I am devastated!
When he was born I saved his life, he was born with the sac still round him and I had to take that off and rub his chest and breath up his nose. So I was there when he was born
Last night at work I got a phone call from my neighbour saying he was hurt, come home its bad.
I ran home and my baby was very badly hurt. the vet came out and took him away and I had to go up this morning and hold him while he got put to sleep. I'm gutted but his back was broken. cant believe how gutted I am but I love that cat!!

You will be gutted, it's quite normal. You've lost a sweet little companion whom you loved and grief is the most natural thing in the world.
Wish I could say something to make you feel better but words in these circumstances seem useless. Big hugs.

mycats, thats terrible news.
Of course you are gutted, you loved him. Poor little thing. And poor you.
There are no words that will make it better for you at the moment but he is out of pain now. There are lots of people on here who have been in your situation and we all know how you feel.
Look after yourself. I will be thinking of you and your beautiful little fella
Take care

So sorry to hear that mycats. You had obviously formed a special bond with him and you will be gutted - it's natural. I lost my beautiful boy, Dylan, through an accident when he was only 5 and it seems so cruel that they are taken like that. At least you were able to be with him and to show him how much you loved him. He will always be special to you

Mycats. So dreadfully sorry for the loss of your beautiful boy. You were there at his arrival into the world, and at his departing, which is so important. He would pass over the rainbow bridge knowing how much he was loved, and he'll never be far from you in spirit. I hope you gain some comfort from all the loving and caring messages from the previous posters. Lots of love and a big hug from me.
oh mycats, my thoughts and prayers are with you, my mums beautiful big ginge who we lost a month ago will be looking after him over rainbow bridge. Remember all your happy times together and we are all here for you if you need to let off steam, talking fondly on here about big ginge helped me. (((((((hugs)))))))xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
we would lose the will to live if we ever lost our little corky, yesterday bearing in mind how cold it has been up here in rural Derbyshire he went to settle down next to our bedroom radiator, but the heating was off because we had the oven on in the kitchen, I became aware of some noises coming from our bedroom only to find little corky hitting the radiator with his front paws and mieowing in his most angry style, once I put the heating back on and the radiator warmed up, he settled off to sleep. clever or what, Prudentia
oh i shouldnt laugh on such a sad thread, but you will find we share our happy tales with you. ladyeyre if you are reading this you must tell us more about corky on another thread, he sounds like a wonderful character, and as wolf says thump anyone who says its just a cat, hes not, he was your best friend, your baby, a valued member of your family, R I P dear Tonka.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
madaboutcats,
we have had him for just over a year nowhe's neutered male about six years old but shows more human traits tha our ten and twelve year old nephews, he can say 'ham' when he wants his favourite treat, he knocks on the back door if he wants to come in, I could go on for at least an hour but I must go to bed now, I need to be up at 4.45 to go to my little job at the main royal mail sorting office, promise to post more tomorrow, Prudentia, xxx
