A few days ago me and my fella bought a couple of these for one of our freshwater tanks. The shop advertised them as the above but I can find nothing about them on the net.
I know this may be a hard question without a pic but does anybody possibly know the proper name or even latin name for these so I can get more info on them?

Like you said, it's really hard without a piccy...lol

Have you tried Googling Google images using the words "spotted loach" and seeing what it throws up?

Yeah, I just cant find it. Sometimes they have that many different names it's impossible! Could really do with the latin name. They are very pretty obviously loach like fish with beautiful markings. I think the reason they are called triangular is because they kind of stand on their front fins to form a triangle shape if seen from the front.
I wish I could draw you a picture, but if it is the body that looks triangular, and there is a long slim tail, then it is probably a plecostomus. The one I have is coloured pale orange with black speckles. Some loach types can live in either a cold water tank like goldfish, or more usually in a tropical tank. Hope this helps.

Ok, I now have pics. Is anyone able to help now, we are still struggling to pinpoint exactly what it is called.
Sorry, haven't come across this kind before. But it's really cute.
