Has anyone bought one of these? I don't have anywhere to put a cat flap so want somewhere for my cat to be able to shelter during bad weather when I'm out all day. Seen them on a few sites online but wondered if they were worth the money?

Thanks in advance!

Any reason you can't have a cat flap in your back door? One suggestion is to get a small waterproof dog kennel. They aren't too expensive.
Hi jules I am in the same dilemma at the moment. We can't get a cat flap as I dont want to fit one on my steel core front door and we have double glazed french doors at the back of the house - the only other outside door we have leads into the garage and is also steel core. We are going to convert the rear part of our garage into a utility room, so will consider putting a flap on the door then, but husband laughs and tells me we will have the only 4K cat flap in the country!

Anyway, as an interim measure, we got a small plastic dog kennel from freecycle to try and to put a little bed inside it. However, we now have a little stray hanging about who has claimed it for now and my 8 month old cat will understandably not go near despite the other cat being a friendly little thing.

We have also considered putting a flap on the shed.

Those katkabins do look really smart, but I am not sure that you could prevent another cat using it and there is also nowhere to put out any food or drink which you could put in the shed or in the kennel.
My cats paw windows & doors till they're in. To save cleaning off muddy paw marks I leave a sky-light window 'off the catch - removed' that they flip open to enter.

Thanks for your suggestions. I can't have a cat flap as only have double glazed patio doors to the back and don't want one in the front door. I did consider the garage but was worried about him bringing in mice as we are surrounded by fields. Might look at dog kennel - just liked the idea of the cat flap on the Katkabin to keep out the rain, although I agree other cats might get in too and there's not much space for food/drink! Will ponder on my dilemma for the pampered puss!
If a cat is going to hunt then it will bring wildlife in whether it is coming through a catflap, window or open door. One of the joys of cat ownership I'm afraid.
The most practical solution would be a catflap into your garage or garden shed if you have one. Failing that, a wooden dog kennel or old rabbit hutch would provide adequate shelter out of inclement weather.
I've tried plastic 'cat kennels' in the past but my cats would rather just sit under a bush.
