how to get a tick out

my dog (yorkshire terrier)has what i am pretty sure is a tick.its more difficult as its right nxt 2 the inside corner of her left eye.ive put vinegar on it and tried to pull it out with tweezers but she moves as soon as i get a good grip.i want 2 remnove it but am wary of hurting her eye.any advice appreciated

Depending where it is I've removed them like they used to do leeches , touch it with hot cigarette or I've done as you did used teezers and somthing acid (I use after shave) what ever you do be very care full especially about her eyes as if you leave any of the head it can cause a nasty ulcer. If youve any doubt take her to the vets and hve them remove it
have lived in Africa for a thousand years and we had ticks all the time - the usual solution was to smear them with vaseline -they can't breathe and therefore either die or drop off. The problem with ticks is either if they get embedded or the head breaks off if you try an detatch it manually - either way you get an infected area. Forget the idea of dabbing them with a lighted cigarette- too many dogs have been injured this way. If you don't feel confident with the above - take her to the vet - the tick is in a delicate position and you may do more harm than good - also, it may not be a tick - could be a small growth.
