fair rights to cats
I am not sure I am posting in the right area but here goes. I think the law needs to change in the UK to be fair to cats. All cats bleed blood, feel pain and get sick, and love to play and mate. I would imgaine they can feel love to. To let your cat go outside and get hurt by cars other people or animals or get sick from disease IS NOT FAIR to your animal. Your job as a pet owner is to provide your pet with a safe inviroment. You cannot argue that or you should not be a animal owner. All animals should be safe and healthy as children should. We all bleed blood. Use common sense with your cat..(Keep Cats Safe)

A mandatory license to own any pet would be a great step but who is going to burden the cost of this? Is some 8year old going to have to mortgage her pushbike to pay for the test to gain a license so she can have a bunny?
Suggesting new laws is a lot easier than implementing them, and there are not many votes in legislation on pet ownership, so........
All animals are supposedly already protected by law from cruelty, although the barrage of ill-informed owners and the breeding of physically handicaped 'breeds' continues unchecked. Those who disregard proper care of their animals now would not take much notice of other laws either. Proper enforcement of the present laws would be a great step towards general animal well-being but finance prevents those agencies from a properly trained employment hierarchy.
Your post is somewhat emotionally muddled but yes, only irresponsible pet owners would disagree with your general point of view.

Actually I am going to argue as all I can decipher from that garbled post ( which has no quesiton in it that I can see) is that the poster doesn't agree with letting cats outdoors.
Well news for you , I have kept cats all my life and they have always gone outside to enjoy the sunshine, play with snowflakes, chase voles and slink through the grass.
To deprive them of this fundamental pleasure is wrong, so I for one won't be keeping my cats indoors to ally the fears of the generally hysterical that thinks that quantity of life is more important than quality.
Use YOUR common sense with your cat, would you enjoy being locked in an flat all your life because your owner is terrified you might get hit by a car?
I love all animals, but loving them does not mean they have to be wrapped in cotton wool and made slaves to our own terrors that we are going to lose them in some way.
