Its been bugging me for ages. There is an absolutely gorgeous cat that lives nearby. I'd love to find out what kind of cat it is. It looks so pretty, it makes me think it is a specific breed, but it could just be a particularly fortunate mixture moggy!

He has blue eyes, and a predominently creamy coloured (but not solid cream, it is slightly beige tinged) body, with smoky grey markings on his forehead, legs and as rings on the last 3rd or so of his tail.

Ring a bell with anyone? I would recognize it if i saw a photo.
Cheers.

Hi Zac. having been trawling photos of both, and there is really nothing under burmese that matches.

He is also nothing like the "usual" siamese as he is much too chunky, and his marking are more stripes than solid pointing. However, i have seen some pictures of traditional Tahi/Balinese Siamese, which look pretty close, even if they dont have as pronounced markings.

If its longhaired then probably a Birman or could be a Ragdoll.

Hi Lankeela. No, not a long hair, It is shorthair, but very thick soft fur.
Tonkinese?
What about a Puddy Cat?

A Tonkinese? They seems to look like Siamese or Burmese - look the same to me.

What we really need is for you take a DNA sample! Too much CSI.
Try asking Google Images - input 'cat breeds' and just look at the pictures.

Some moggies are really beautiful.

LOL Peace.. Hmmm. not quite like that one!

Wolff. I have been scouring images, and cant quite find one that looks right.

I'm starting to suspect he may be a 1st generation mog, born of a pedigree and a something!

He just broke in to chew our cats catnip toy, so got a good look at him. One noticable charcteristic, is his eyes, which as well as being blue, are really round, and not that feline almond shape.
The cat sounds a bit like a cross-breed, colour is similar to a persian, as are the blue eyes, and some have the light smoky shadow stripes it it's a cross with a tabby.

Thanks Mr VERITAS. No wasnt any of those, but whilst looking at them i did spot a picture of a Siberian. Its not a total match as this cat has a shorter smoother coat than a pure siberian would have, but its pretty close. Right eyes, right markings on head and tail, same head an body shape and good colour match.

Imagine this one as a grown up, with shorter fur, and we're there!

So Schutz, i think he is probably a cross between something! But at least i know what kind of cats to look for to find something similar, once i'm allowed another cat by my OH!!!
What about this cat - if it is a cat. Give it a remote for the TV, food and beer and it looks like most guys that I know.

Last attempt - a Maine C0one. Lovely big cats. The are about 1.5 times the size of a 'normal' cat.

Hi Wolff, i did actually try and photograph the cat when it came in yesterday, but it kept moving, so have a really good shot of its tail, and a couple of blurry body shots! Will see what i can do next time he appears.
Any suggestions where i could upload them to to link to?

Try photobucket - it's idiot proof - I managed it!

My two are house cats, but the house has one quiet with no sign of a cat. I wonder what they are up to.
