Do you have to pay to take your animal to a vet

My box turtle is shedding, but she had her skin like that for awhile i want to take her to a vet do i have to pay to get her a check up.

Yes, unless you go to somewhere where the consultation/any treatment is free - like some PDSA surgeries.

It's worth checking the national RSPCA site also, as they may have a clinic near to you. As with the PDSA, you would need to be on certain benefits to be eligible.
Vets are very expensive...x
my vet's £25.00 for a check-up.....treatments on top of that...
We have the Blue Cross over here in Dublin - these are mobile and a free service for those in need of it - you may have something similar over with you
