Allergy sticky ears in dog

Hi there. My two year old Weimaraner GSP cross boy has being diagnosed will allergy problems. The main symptom is inflamed ears which then become dirty and sticky. We are working with the vet who is excellent but the steroid tablets which helped at first have stopped being effective at a dose which is acceptable in terms of side effects for the dog. The next stage is to try a topical steroid spray which we will start on monday. We have cleaned up his diet which has helped a lot but not solved the problem. We have also tried
Canaural drops (the thick yellow ones)
Thornit powder
We currently use ear cleaning solution made from boracic and lactic acid to clean his ears (at vets suggestion) plus the steroid tabs and evening primrose oil capsules, again at vet's suggestion.
has anyone else had experience of this and can you make any suggestions please?
He has bare, not hairy ear canals and is as good as gold about the twice daily cleaning and treatment.

Have made a note of all those progs and times (where listed0 but if any of you oculd tell me when any of them are broadcast I would appreciate it, as cannot always get them on my legal site, but can do if I ask, but can't ask too soon. IE I asked today for Cilla's unswung 60's on next tues, and was told it was too early d'doh!!!

When Mr N bought our samsung Hd dvd recorder, obviously all the instructions were in Spanish, which is usually Ok, but the machine was way too difficult to understand, so I called them and they sent me all the instructions which had been photocopied as they only had one English manual, but still refer to them and have had the machine at least 4 years! Get one thing sorted then I forget it so have to read it all again!

Its a great LP (and it is an LP, vinyl) I am trying to get hold of a copy but they are like hen's teeth. The foghorns are still going here, I love it, especially at night, very comforting.

Morning all...dull and chilly.... I'm smiling at neti not keeping up with the others :o)
I could no more zumba than fly to the moon today, crip night's sleep and when I did finally nod off about 4am the bloody crows woke me back up banging & cawing on the tele ariel...grrrr.

well its only 2.15 and I have got the garage emptied, the boiler serviced, been to town and shopped (couldn't find what I went for though bah! ) and had my clock delivered back by the mender. It is running beautifully for the first time I can remember (it was DH's Nan's and she could never get it running either.)
Neti I dont disapprove of p2p but people are starting to get done for it in the UK.
The dogs are worn out with barking at visitors and are asleep...might nod off myself....

That is my "Ive lost it face" at zumba. The other girls were brought in specially i think cos they knew what to do and never came back. Lucky they didnt show the piccy of me slumping against the pillar!
