Pet update..
7 Answers
Hey you guys.
Though I would update you in here about the situation with my pets. Had to drop 3 cat boxes off at my old house today, as 5 of my gorgeous cats are going to Wood Green rehoming centre in Heydon tomorrow morning. I have opted out of going with them, I was enough of a mess when I saw them for the last time today, dont think I could deal with taking them in to be rehomed. Too much like a final goodbye :-(
Ashke & Cleo (my dogs) both go in to Wood Green on Friday to be signed in and rehomed, and again I have opted out of taking them, as I just cant do it.
Been Ok for most of today, but am now in tears typing this! Think the next 2 days are going to be pretty tough for me.
So yea, thank you to all your kind messages and support before, unfortunately we did not successfully re home any of them with any one we know.
xx

No single answer here will probably make you feel any better tonight but just to say that in the past I have given many dogs and cats a new home. I really wanted each one and gave them the best I could in terms of affection, company and care. Never regretted having any one of them. They all settled well with me in their own time and were a joy to have for the rest of their lives. I have no doubt that the same will be true for all of your dear pets.
Thank you tfn.
That was so nice to read, and I really hope that everyone of my pets is lucky enough to go to home with someone like you.
If they do, I will know that they will always be looked after and loved.
Although I dont know if any one could love them as much as I do, but then maybe that is just how I am feeling now having seen them all for the last time ever, and thinking maybe I should have gone with them to the rehoming centres?
Just dont think i could cope with losing all 7 of them in 2 days.

I don't think it will matter that you aren't going with them to the centre wiggal. It reads as though you have done everything you can to secure a good future for them all and no-one can wish for more than that. Since reading your post I have been thinking about all my little 4-legs with a smile on my face. My greatest achievement was rescuing a blind miniature poodle (she had been beaten about the head) - she was such a prima donna. I had another min poodle at the time, also rescued, and he was as scruffy as they come. Also had a purpose-bought newfoundland and all 3 were jet black. When I walked them out together people would say that the big one had brought his dinner out with him - not so. The little ones were always in charge! Without the rescues my life would not have been so rich nor fulfilled. I think you are doing a huge favour to their new owners wiggal (:-))
Just console yourself with the fact that if someone goes to Wood Green for a rescue, then they have given it a lot of thought and made the effort to go there. The Wood Green staff are very kind and will do everything they can to match the home with the pet. Situations like this are never easy but you have done the right thing by them.
Hi guys, thanks for your messages.
Divegirl, I think my ex contact them but they ask you keep hold of the dog while they get sorted, which really was not practical for him now as he is out a lot longer at work, and if Cleo went and he didnt, he would be pretty lonely without her.
Lankeela, I do know we have done the right thing for them, and that is what is making it easier and I am not a complete wreck as I know they wilk be looked after well and passed on to loving homes.
