about 2 weeks ago my idiot friend dropped my house rabbit by accident and knock his top teeth out. we took our rabbit to the out of hours vets and he was given antibiotics and metacam, he seemed fine. a week later he in the evening he started gasping for air and had bubbles coming out of his wouth and nose. it sounded like he was drowning. i really need to know what happened to him, was it my friends fault that i have lost my charlie
if you really need to know, you should pay for a post mortem. Noone on here, or vetinary qualified will be able to tell you for certain why your rabbit died
to be honest heart failure was one of the things the vet said but she kept saying all different things like horse disease and choking and blockages. heart and lung failure
I feel very sorry for your poor rabbit - if he had survived, how would he have been able to eat, with no front teeth? You must be devastated. Go back to your vet and ask if they will let you have further information.
both me and my husband are devastated. we dont have kids and my too house rabbits were my babies, still have one gorgeous boy now though, but i have gotten over protective with him
there you go then, your vet who actually examined the rabbit could not determine cause of death, so how would we know? (sorry to sound arsey but it's true)
bednobs. i was asking because this could have happened to someone elses beloved rabbit and might actually know.ps their vet maybe be more clued up then ours. had an x-ray and still didnt know.
Sorry about your rabbit Hayley. It's always devastating to lose a pet. I think you should accept that he had heart failure for whatever reason. You will never know whether it was because he was dropped or not and if you did know it wouldn't bring him back. Your friend probably feels dreadful about it.
she said she dropped him from knee hieght but i have a good idea that she is lying, was unaware that i had put this under adverts, sorry never used this before
Well Welcome to AB Hayley.
Lets hope we see more of you in the future, they're a really helpful bunch on here.
& so sorry to hear about your bunny. Bless.
