Hi we have an old Felix cat she has taken to pulling her fur out round the top of her back we have put some front line on and some might dust round the areas although we couldn't see any obvious signs of irritation is there any thing we could put on her or any diet supplements that we could give her before we take her to the vets for a costly diagnosis.
Thanks for any help Tez

Thanks Messalina it's funny you should say that Mrs Tez has been preparing to go on holiday for weeks but has not had this fur loss so severe before as this time, must be her age, i will try and get some Feliway to treat her ,Thanks Tez

It could be anxiety, try something like a Feliway diffuser, although they aren't cheap it might be worth a go.

Do take her to the vet - there may be a simple solution, or she could be unhappy - or she could be exhibiting first signs of dementia. You need a diagnosis, don't guess and try to treat it yourself - the puss sounds unhappy.
