suffering thru it all because they cant get out and about to walk him, etc. We dont want to have to get him put down, a home with a large garden and no kids would be ideal but no one is interested in having him. Any advice?

contact border collie rescue - the link ladyalex has given you is absolutely first class - I've been up there and worked for a few days so have seen it first hand and I foster for them - you will get excellent advice
When/Why does he show his teeth? Is he aggressive, how is he with other dogs/children/cats?

Border collie rescue or Wiccaways may be your best bet.

Hi Jules77
Hes just not that used to other people, hes quite aggressive if anyone comes to the door etc. Its such a shame cos he can be such a lovely dog but then he shows his teeth to someone. I work full time or id take him in, i feel that sorry for my mum and dad cos they just cant get about like they used to and we all know border collies need so much exercise. Just wish we could find someone who could take him. x
It does sound like he hasnt had enough exercise and mental stimulation.
a lot of these dogs aren't socialised properly either Paddy, what's his background? - I'd be very interested to know that.
In my life time I have been bitten about 5 times, each time it was a collie!

These dogs are great intelligent dogs but they do need to be occupied and their mind and body kept fit or they can turn aggressive.

Myself.... I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole!

Some good advice above to help you^^^^^^^^^
