if a fish freezes solid in a garden pond

will it come back to life when the ice thaws out??

qand if so is this like cryogenics (sp?)

Yes it's been known to happen.
If it has frozen solid, it won't survive. But where the outer skin of a fish has frozen, but not the insides, it has been known for the fish to survive. Also, it's been found that a fish encased in solid ice may not itself be frozen, and, depending on the species, it might well survive in that state, but only for two or three days.
It's unlikely the fish will survive ... not impossible, but unlikely.

... if the pond is deep enough, it won't freeze solid and the fish will just mooch around in the bottom until the Spring.
