Lungworm problem for new puppy

A friend of mine purchased a Westie male puppy for £350 2 weeks ago; he is now 11 weeks old. When she got him home he coughed up blood and she took him to the vet who suspected lungworm and the puppy is now receiving treatment for it. Does my friend have any right to a refund or partial refund for the veterinary treatment from the person who sold her the puppy?

well if it was a reputable breeder I am sure the breeder will be horrified to be told the pup has lungworm (are you in the UK?) If (as I suspect) it was a farmed puppy or petshop purchase she can whistle for her money IMO
Another case of 'why on earth did they buy from someone who didn't worm the puppies?' There really is no excuse these days. Would she really want a refund (I mean taking the puppy back?) poor little bu**er who would do that to it. £350 is not a lot to pay for a good quality Westie either, and I'm afraid you get what you pay for.

She doesn't intend to give the puppy back to the kennel club registererd breeder but wanted to know if she could recoup the Vet bills
Is the pup not insured. Most Kennel Club breeders give 6 weeks free Kennel Club insurance? Just wondered. It might be worth looking at.
If by kennel club registered, you mean that they have a kennel name, it means NOTHING... Only that they have registered it and paid the fee.
If it is Kennel Club registered and they have transferred the ownership they get four weeks free insurance. Its not the breeder who is Kennel Club registered, its the dog, and sadly it means nothing other than the breeder has paid the fee to register the pup, which anyone can do.
