The RSPCA is useless...and it's not only that poor beautiful beast being mistreated-there are others as well in that circus.
Get them out of there-shut it down...and give the animals their dignity back.

I read about this in the paper this morning & the pictures brought tears to my eyes.

I initially thought how nasty the elephant owner must be, but he expressed that he had no idea his poor elephant was being brutally treated like that -yeah, right!

He said he was going to sack the Easter European trainer/carer, but I think the circus should be shut down - full stop!

Quite frankly I would like to stick a pitchfork up both the circus owner and the trainers backsides and see how they like it .Poor creature .Very upsetting .
Perhaps the media coverage may hopefully help to get them shut down .

That is truly disgusting. The guy is identifiable from one of the photos, let alone the video - I hope he gets what he deserves. 58 years old, Anne deserves a decent retirement now.

I am not a softy, helping out in a slaughterhouse as a teenager, but I couldn't bring myself to watch the video. The photos say it all.

I am hoping that this poor excuse for a human is alone in this and it was genuinely unknown to others. What a piece of filth!

I've watched it - gratuitous and pointless violence. I can't understand either why the elephant is leg-chained, she can't move more than a couple of feet from where she's fixed. No lying down or rolling if she wanted to. Bobby Roberts should be ashamed.

Annie the elephant is going to live out her life at Longleat. "After a great deal of persuasion" I read, the poor old lady is to be reased from her chains to be cared for with loving kindness. The bastard who so ill treated her will probably get away with it , but thank goodness he was caught out on film - well done the undercover investigators. In the 21st Century we should be ashamed that Animals are used & abused for public entertainment in Britain. If Circ-de-Soliel can attract such vast audiences with performing people who CHOOSE to show their skills, there is no excuse for enslaving our fellow creatures,
