Do hedgehogs eat rubbish-will they get into any rubbish sacks not in bins?
I am asking this because I just saw what I initially thought was a hedgehog.,...but I'm now worried was a rat...semi darkness and similar size.

I would have thought it was unlikely unless there was garden waste in there.

They may find something worth eating but they arent really scavengers as such, maybe just atracted by a smell or indeed it could have been a rat.

We have a locked rubbish store for my building...yet a few inconsiderate idiots can't be bothered putting their stuff *in* the store...and a pest company was brought in a few months ago. But-I have also seen a hedgehog on the lawn nearby. So-it could be either I suppose. I was moving quite slowly-more like a hedgehog would....* she says hopefully*
Try and stroke it- if you get a handful of prickles- it's a hedgy ;-)

...and if I get a bite??...lol

It's a hedgehog...I've seen it since...or should I say Sally-the dog-saw it. She's got good night vision. It was waddling in the same are last night.
