BT Broadband problem

I have a 1mb BT Broadband connection that hangs up all the time. I'll be on an internet page, click on a link or something and it hangs up and I have to reconnect. It also hangs up when I use the telephone. It's driving me crazy and also bugs me because I'm paying for what is essentially a dial-up service where I can't use the phone at the same time as the internet.

Also, connecting to the internet in the first place locks the computer and I have to keep pressing CTRL ALT Delete.

Any ideas? Anyone have the same problem(s)?

Me being stupid! Wasn't using the filter thing that came with broadband. The computer still locks up, but at least the internet is better!
