Not sure what to do here!............lost my dog 17 months ago,he was 14, had him since he was 10 weeks old, broke my heart to lose him, still miss him! he had been diabetic for about 5 years, such hard going, couldn't leave him for more than an hour or two, didn't have a holiday at all in that time, my oh works away from home, and I miss the company, but am not sure about having another dog, I suppose I'm afraid that when it becomes older I'll have to cope with simiiar problems again!.....have seen a little puppy that I'm really interested in!.............but not sure whether to commit to adopting her!.......what do you all think?.................

We have Charlie who is 11 and Toby who is 6. I said last year that when both these two leave us, that's it, no more dogs, I'm getting too old. However, as you may know my husband died in February and really the thought of coming back to an empty house every night fills me with dread. So, I Will probably get another dog when they have both gone. So I would say, go for it. Chrissa

Chrissa, thank you!...............I know what you mean, I come home to an empty house now and I hate it!.............I wouldn't leave her alone often, she would come with me mostly!..........miss the company so much tough!......think I'll go for her!.......hope she's still there tomorrow!.............will let you know!...........
Definitely go for it. I got Sally,my lurcher because I wanted more company than the cat could provide. My ex and I had our lovely old 15 year old lady put to sleep two weeks after we split. That was 6 years ago,and last year I really started to yearn for a dog. I will never regret getting Sally-even when others I know are saying 'goodbye' to old faithful friends. We can't live by worrying about future regrets....live for now!
Will do, Welsh. I am Scottish but hubbies job moves us around (he's English, how does a Scottishwoman make an Englishman unhappy? Marry him!)
Just had to unwrap the cat-flap off Floyd's head as he will ram it thinking he's protecting me from nothing outside as hubbie is nightshift! And Lexi has eaten all the cat food. Told you it's a zoo here!
