It is the same size as a baby rabbit and is the colour of a wild rabbit with a darker brown stripe down its back, it also has a bobtail. BUT it has tiny ears like a hamster/ guinea pig and doesn't hop but runs like a rat. It feeds on rose petals and clover in the lawn and appears about 2 or 3 times a day. No I haven't imagined it as I have a photo of it which i am happy to share. It's quite cute but is a bit of a mystery

Apples are doing well, they'll be tastier than you buy at the shops.

I Googled this odd looking rabbit it does look something like an American Pika.
looked again at the pic, and I agree with Mick, the rabbit is holding it's ears back, and so it's definately a rabbit!.....have another look!........
It looks a bit like the juvenile rabbit has its ears folded back. I've seen wild adults do that when they crouch down to avoid detection.
ITS A WILD RABBIT!!!!!!
LOL Ratter, I think that's obvious to most of us
RATTER, yes a rabbit!.........a young wild rabbit!.....
lol, walk up my road and you see more rabbits than people, thankfully :-)
yes same near to me too RATTER, that's why I knew it was a young rabbit!....see them often!.....the pic was misleading, he had his ears folded back, but definately a young rabbit!....
Bugs Bunny!!
is it a pikachu ?
Mik, it's a rabbit!.............we've decided! it is a rabbit!.....please keep up!........
Its not a rabbit, its Mick-Talbot, you can tell by the silly ears!!!!
Bless you Mick, want a hankie.
or a blackjack?
A Blackjack?
To hit people with RATTER, especially those who are especially annoying.
A blackjack is a weapon? never heard of it.
I just Googled Blackjack and it didnt bring up a weapon.

Hey guys thanks for all the feedback I guess it a a baby rabbit although that said it has been around for about 6weeks now and it ain't getting any bigger. Re the apple tree - it is an eating apple called Sunset and yes it will be pruned in autumn. If the critter gets any bigger or I have better photos in the weeks to come I shall be back with an update - that is if you can bear it...............
