I would like to take my dog to meet her breeder at a show in August - not to show her, jst generaally so her breeder can see what a lovely dog she's turned into. I've just been looking up the show online, and the entries closed on June 20th, and I'm reading that as the same for the not for competition. Is there any point me ringing/writing to the show secretary to ask if there's any way she can get into the show? - with this weather that we have just had I wouldn't be wanting to leave her in the car.

It may be worth giving them a ring but dont leave the dog in a car at a show ground, you will get lynched!!!

Why not arrange for a meet after the show?

Thanks Ratter, I wouldn't dream of leaving a dog in a hot car! Good idea about eeting up afterwards though - thanks.
Organising a dog show especially if it's a Champ show is like a military operation and creates a mountain of paperwork. There are closing dates for a reason so I wouldn't hold out much hope of getting in now. I think the best idea would be to arrange to meet somewhere near the show ground later that day.
If its Bournemouth, they have a tent for 'unentered dogs' at the entrance to the show. Its run by a rescue charity (usually Welsh Springers I think) and costs about a fiver to put your dog in there for the day. They will look after it and exercise it if you want them to or you can come and go from the show to see to it (only a few yards from the entrance). You don't need to book just turn up on the day. Take a cage for your dog so its secure or a benching chain if its used to being on one, although I doubt it is, so a cage would be a much better bet. Don't forget a water bowl (they will have them if you do forget). Your breeder can come out with you to see her and you can exercise her in the car park which is in a field in the New Forest - just take care of the ponies wandering loose! Its free to enter the show, but £5 for the car park. You definitely would not want to leave her in the car, they check the car parks and make announcements for any dogs left in to be removed.
Its a shame you didn't enter her, there are only twelve Mals entered. I'm sure the breeder would have helped you and encouraged you - maybe you could ask about other shows, I'm sure the people in the breed would be pleased to have another exhibitor.
I have spoken to Denise the secretary and there is definitely an unentered tent, but they don't put it in the schedule because people would put their dogs in there instead of entering 'Not For Competition' and they would need three tents to accommodate them all!
For information Malinois are in ring 14 at 10 a.m.

That's great - thank you very much for all your replies, especially Lankeela - unfortunately I can't show my girl as I've got back problems, and am not able to do her justice! We're looking forward to going to the New Forest for a day out!
Islasmum, you could get someone to show her for you or just have a runner to move her and you can do the rest.

My dearest Carakeel show our dogs but yesterday had to use a runner to move Gilligan (see Avatar) as she was not able to do this herself.

Thanks for your idea Ratter, I will consider that for the future.
I'm sure Jan would do it - and I surely would if I were at the show.
