A creature has recently started crapping in our front door porchway during the night. Wiping some bleach over the floor has kept whatever animal it was away for a couple of days but last night it returned and dumped on the actual door mat instead.

Aside from removing the doormat and continuing with the bleach, anyone got any other ideas how we can stop it? Incidentally, would a cat crap in a front door porch way on a cement floor or is more likely to be a fox?

Sorry, I'll use next door next time.
Have you offended a diminutive human neighbour?

''I take it you live in the country''

Yep... that secluded and wild area known as South East London.
It's probably a cat. A neighbour's cat has been using the same area of the garden path as a toilet for months.
Probably a fox, they mark their territory, quite often on something raised. Like a molehill, rock, old beer can and probably the odd doorstep. It has a very distinctive niff.
A little unusual to say the least!!
I only asked!!
is this a new take on pigeon holing?

Seriously, try spraying everywhere with citrus smelling cleaner - if it is a cat that should put it off.
i wondered where murph went
Murphy is a 'laydee' - she wouldn't do something like that. :-)
HA
Might even be a Hedgehog snags, have you seen them around after dark ?
Hedgehog poo resembles a blackened dried-up earthworm - can't be that, surely.
badger?

Hi snags, put down a tub of pepper in the area being fouled , wait for the offender to have a sneezing attack , then smack it with a stick. Or once the beast has smelt the pepper, it just may not return !

I Googled 'fox faeces' earlier. Looks a bit too dark to me...
Spray with diluted Eucalyptus & water - that'll stop what ever it is!
