Cage for puppies
10 Answers
I am due to pick up a Jack Russell puppy in two weeks time. I have been reading books on the breed and training. Many advocate the use of a cage for training/living purposes. Having grown up with dogs, I can never remember my father using a cage. Any views on this subject would be appreciated.

I think it is a great way to house train as the puppy will not soil his own bed. Its not cruel as some people say, but its not a place to leave your dog all the time! A couple of hours at the most during the day if need be. I have found that my dogs love the cage as they think of it as a den and when i have it out for new puppies, my older dogs will often sneak in for a little sleep!
