Toxoplasmosis is a well known, transmissible disease from our feline friends.

Mange? Dogs are far cleaner.

True, Helen. But you can't take a cat for a walk.
As much as I love both dogs and cats, I have to say that cats are generally far cleaner than dogs and much more fussy.

Dog poo can be equally as toxic.

The diseases that humans can catch from cats can all be sorted if the cat is vaccinated and wormed.

Dog poo also
Yes you can sandy on a cat harness! Also cats bury their poo unlike dogs!!
Sandy, two of our long gone cats used to come on our walks with us by choice. Mind you they were country walks across fields. We used to have to wait for one cat whilst she climbed a few trees on the way.
If you took a cat to the park and threw a frisby for it, would it run and fetch it back to you?
"Dog poo also can be extremely toxic" (don't know what happened to the end of my sentence!!
When I rang the dog groomer yesterday I said "Could I make an appointment for Casper who has just rolled in dog sh!t please?"
I was going to answer "depends how well the cat throws it to you" in answer to the OP. Then I noticed the questions set in A&N, so I won't bother.

My thanks to every one who has replied to my query, I think people are very kind in here ! I have a cat whom I tried to "frontline " it unsuccessfully: She is ferule! I cannot catch her to the vets. Thanks again for the replies.
Can you catch her in a towel, brenda? If you can wrap up the legs, you can usually frontine the back of her neck without getting your arm ripped off. Is she really feral, or just cross?
many well behaved house cats become feral when they get out. I have reluctantly stopped feeding birds as local moggies killed so many, and the stink at the bottom of the garden is vile at times
Brenda, Please don't use Frontline as it doesn't work anymore as the fleas are immune to it. If you do manage to catch the cat, use Advocate or Stronghold.
take care when handling feral (or domesticated!) cats - cat scratch fever is real and very debilitaing. Cat scratches need to be treated with respect.
Hi Ladybirder, I had a long chat with our vet about frontline after our conversation on here. She has been my vet for a long time and is very trustworthy. The vet group she works for still strongly recommend frontline in spite of the adverse publicity and say it works well for most cats and dogs. It is still working well on mine.
AS rsvp said; Felinosis.
