I can't see this. Is it very horrible? I would have freaked if I found a beastie crawling where I was sleeping. The Beastie would have ended up very dead.

Don't think it's a bed bug. I've seen beetles like that in my garden.

Don't know the variety but looks like any normal shield bug or weevil found in the garden.

Looks like some kind of proboscis beetle to me (there are squillions of different types).

its just a wild beetle that flown through your window, just release it to the outside to go on its merry way :-)
