I am stuck with a few answers in Steve Riches competition in the People 18 December 2011.. All the answers relate to "Would You Believe It" articles that have appeared in the gardening section of the paper during 2011.

4) In which language was the first Rose catalogue?

6) This year British gardeners spent £4million on what?
a) curtains for sheds b) garden gnomes c) string

11) Which vegetable was served during Roman orgies?
a) cucumber b) lettuce c) leek

14) How can 8 out of 10 garden bird feeders be described?
a) empty b) dangerous c) too small

17) Which plants smell most like beer, claim German scientists?
a) basil b) honeysuckle c) roses

Any help would be appreciated.

Googling found a link to the text answering question 4. It goes to a pay site but the relevant bit of the text is on the index page anyway:

You might be able to find more answers by searching through that site but it appears to be monitoring IP addresses (rather than just using cookies) so it's blocked me from making further searches. (I could change my IP address by disconnecting my router, and then reconnecting but I don't see why I should do all of the work!)
