They stay there waiting for someone to bring them home, so they can restart there life. Dogs need homes too. People don’t realize that millions of dogs are being brought in, cared for and then they wait for a new owner to bring them home. Why don’t we save a innocent dog that needs our help?
I'm trying to convince my parents to adopt a homeless dog. (Yes i want a dog I'm experienced! I know they are alot of work please none of those coments!)
Is it too cheesy? Will it work?

Baldric, you have a doberman, then another doberman :)

If you have to persuade your parents, don't get a dog!
dont you already have a dog? it may be quite expensive to have another dog
Why do you want one? Are you there all day to walk it and familiarise it, clear up after it, move the chewed shoes? Are you paying for its food and vet's bills?
good good questions
It wouldn't work on me. I would be bored after the first two seconds. Plus I'd mention that if they shipped them all to Korea then probably a lot of problems could be solved.
Going by your previous posts you already have a Golden Retriever, and a Rat. Two dogs are a lot of responsibility and HARD work, I have two Dober man(or is that men?). If you have to persuade your parents it sounds as if you are probably young(ish)/living with them, so I would question your ability to take responsibility for the Dogs and suspect most of the work would fall on your parents, soooner rather than later, which really is not fair, is it?
Don't do it, I don't think you're ready, not with a broken wrist and Netball to contend with as well!
;o)
Haha chinadoll, 50 million Koreans can't be wrong....
^ oh my !! :-)
well trawled, baldric!
Actions could speak louder than words.

Could you do some volunteer dog walking or similar at a local dogs home first or something like that and maybe offer to do some extra chores if you aren't old enough to get a part time job to help pay for it? Maybe work out a budget of how much it costs to keep a dog and offer to do various things to help towards that.

I'd also show maturity and not want to rush and just go get any dog but to make sure it's the right dog for you and your family (and vice versa), especially if you already have a dog.

Ahh, just read back, broken wrist and taking responsibility for a new dog with, I assume, school/college and hobbies is not a great plan at the moment!
anna, 2 dobies better than one,
1, 7yrs old now ,from a pup
2nd 1, 6yrs old now, a rescue at 2.5 yrs.
I was kidding you, they are a breed I admire, but much too strong for me.
they're pussycats, well, no they're dobies
oh hell you know what I mean, I think!
;o))
We have a choc lab, he is a joy to have too I might add, wouldn't be without him...
Craft, a 'choc' lab eh!

very tasty!

;o()
Yeah, but the hairs tend to get stuck in my teeth.....
I begged and pleaded for 16 years for a dog. I wanted a big dog. Just before my 17th birthday mum told my brother and I we would be getting a puppy - a small dog. It was a cross between a bull-dog and German Shepherd. When we got him he was small and cute.

Alas mum got it wrong - he was a cross between a bull-mastiff and a German Shepherd and he just kept growing and growing.

He was my first love and when I left home he came with me - not easy to live in a bedsit with a big dog.

A dog is definitely worth waiting for - I would love another dog but for various reasons it wouldn't be fair on the hound.
Whatever you say, from your previous questions, I DONT think you are an experienced dog owner!
