They stay there waiting for someone to bring them home, so they can restart there life. Dogs need homes too. People don’t realize that millions of dogs are being brought in, cared for and then they wait for a new owner to bring them home. Why don’t we save a innocent dog that needs our help?
I'm trying to convince my parents to adopt a homeless dog. (Yes i want a dog I'm experienced! I know they are alot of work please none of those coments!)
Is it too cheesy? Will it work?

Going by your previous posts you already have a Golden Retriever, and a Rat. Two dogs are a lot of responsibility and HARD work, I have two Dober man(or is that men?). If you have to persuade your parents it sounds as if you are probably young(ish)/living with them, so I would question your ability to take responsibility for the Dogs and suspect most of the work would fall on your parents, soooner rather than later, which really is not fair, is it?
Don't do it, I don't think you're ready, not with a broken wrist and Netball to contend with as well!

Actions could speak louder than words.
Could you do some volunteer dog walking or similar at a local dogs home first or something like that and maybe offer to do some extra chores if you aren't old enough to get a part time job to help pay for it? Maybe work out a budget of how much it costs to keep a dog and offer to do various things to help towards that.
I'd also show maturity and not want to rush and just go get any dog but to make sure it's the right dog for you and your family (and vice versa), especially if you already have a dog.

I begged and pleaded for 16 years for a dog. I wanted a big dog. Just before my 17th birthday mum told my brother and I we would be getting a puppy - a small dog. It was a cross between a bull-dog and German Shepherd. When we got him he was small and cute.
Alas mum got it wrong - he was a cross between a bull-mastiff and a German Shepherd and he just kept growing and growing.
He was my first love and when I left home he came with me - not easy to live in a bedsit with a big dog.
A dog is definitely worth waiting for - I would love another dog but for various reasons it wouldn't be fair on the hound.
