If it's still open, yes, but they have gone into receivership so the stores are remaining open while they look for a buyer http://www.belfasttel...tration-16105420.html

I hope so myself - I have something I need to take back, for a return!
i like stuff from there!

Thanx. Didn't want to order some things and not receive it.

I like peacocks too, one of my fav shops :(
Gosh, when did that happen? They haven't long need a new shop in town.
For anyone who requires a link:

Think Bonne Marche is part of their group, I don't shop at either but if they both go, in our town they have two shops situated together so that would leave a huge gap in the prime shopping area of our little town :(
>>>Think Bonne Marche is part of their group<<<

Confirmed here:

I didn't know that, ann - I think it's only Peacocks which is in trouble, not the Peacock Group (which includes Bonmarche)
Heard about the possibility of this happening last week from an employee. Almost as scary as the Woolworths drama.

Are we doomed?
As long as my favourite Matalan keeps going .............
DOOMED? Captain Mannering? LOL :)
It's Mainwaring actually, tell her Pike. :)
Don't panic!

Here's a good site douglas if you are a fan of Dads Army

I'll get Uncle Arthur to check it out, I'm feeling a little bit chesty. :P
Who do you think you are kidding Mr Hitler? :O)
Back to Peacocks - sorry fifi, are the shops actually closing or are they hoping for a take over?
Seriously though, it's a worry for the staff of the various companies within the group. Having been made redundant twice in the last ten years, both times just before Christmas, it must be pretty grim working there at the moment.
On the news its just said the staff will know tomorrow ...... poor things I feel for them too, OH and I have been made redundant 5 times between us in our careers (retired now) its so demoralising, especially when the problem is nothing to do with the hard working staff - its usually financial problems or through funding being ceased/cut.
Ann they are looking for a buyer to buy the whole estate or just select stores eg most profitable.
