yes mine is the same in reverse too... and everyone on the facebook page said the same thing - but i wondered if there was some way of doing this, but that this person got it wrong....because why make it up? its a crap pointless joke.

i know if you type it wrong 3 times it takes the card...but i very much doubt the bank would link it to the police

Anything that advises you to "SHARE THIS TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS" is usually spam.

In the event it would be useless. Ignoring the problem with palindrome PINs (which if banned would reduce the number of PINs available thus reducing security) there is the fact that if the public knows it then so does the thief who will scarper fast with the cash if they can pull it out, or perform some major violence of you for pulling the stunt before they go, if they can't. And of course the police don't have the resource to react immediately so will be around to look at the ATM in the morning. And someone somewhere is suggesting this was a real consideration at some point. Please tell me it wasn't.

I remember that I did put my PIN in the wrong way round once (the first and last numbers are the same and I mixed up the middle ones). The machine didn't give me any money.

it has a bit of history - it is indeed a real invention... and has had a campaign to get it introduced for a while...

seems people are spreading it round as a hoax - although its probably some well meaning person who scan read a genuine article and thought it was real...

thats why i asked - seems an odd thing to just make up out of the blue... though i shouldn't really get surprised by people online anymore..

and although i can see the obvious and main benefit of having an emergency code, i agree there are a lot of faults with it, that outweigh the benefit

This is a scam and anyway, the attackers for the money would strike when you have withdrawn the money, not when you are inserting your pin number!
