Driving through the fens earlier, I approached a field that appeared to be covered in white. When I got alongside it, I realised it was swans. Not just a few but HUNDREDS! No other birds, just swans.
Of course, I was driving and forgot to have a good look to see what was growing in the field. Any ideas why there might be so many swans in one place? What would be SO attractive to them? Is it some sort of annual Swan Fen Convention?!!
Just idle curiosity on my part, but I have never seen so many of these lovely birds in one place at the same time.
