We all clubbed together at work and bought a £40 gift card for a colleages 40th birthday from Peacocks. This only happened days before they went into administration. She has been told she is unable to spend it. I think its disgusting as the shop is still open and our money went in their till. I think they must have known when we bought this but they say not. She has to send a claim form off and see IF she can claim anything back. I usually shop a lot at Peacocks and so does she which is why I bought it from there but I think I will boycott them from now on

In our local store there is a notice saying about the administration and gift card fiasco. Apparently while one can not redeem the gift card in store, one can use them to shop on - line. I wonder if that might be a way around losing the value of the gifts.

My voucher is for £10 and I sent off the claim form a few weeks ago.Not heard nothing yet could take months if any.Probably won't pay out till they find a buyer. Just make sure you keep copy of address in case you have to write again.

It's very likely the shop staff did not know when they sold the voucher that they were about to go bust
The first the shop staff will have known about it was when they read/heard about it on the news - employees are always the last to know.
