Owl Song

I have just recorded the sound of an owl outside in the garden with my Blackberry (as a video clip - but its really just sound only as I can't see the owl) How can I upload it here and will someone be able to identify the type of owl? TIA

You can't post audio or video files (or even pictures) directly onto this website. You have to upload the files to a suitable hosting site (such as Youtube) and then post a link here. (If you post a Youtube link the file will then be embedded into your post).

If it is going toowhit toowhoo or hooooooo it is a tawny owl. A screechy sound is a barn owl. I hear the tawny owl here in Leicester.

Can't believe I am going to type this but as I have had no luck uploading the clip it goes: woooooooo then there is a 2 second pause then it continues with wa wa wa wooooo bother sections sound quite eerie and mournful. Is this a tawny as suggested?

Him if you sit quietly and play a recording of a female he will come quite close

So it is a "he" then? I wasn't sure ....... any good recording of a female on line you can point me to?
