What would you do?

I'm feeding a friend's cat while she's away on holiday so go there every day. This friend retired a few months ago so often goes away to her daughter's. This (female) cat has access to and from the house through a small open window. The past three times I've been, I've noticed a stronger and stronger smell of 'cat' so presume other cat(s) are coming into the house and spaying. It stinks. Today, there was even a broken plant pot on the floor. Should I just wait until my friend gets back next week or e-mail her? Not quite sure what the best thing to do is.

Thanks for your answers. This is what I thought too but wondered if I contacted her she'd make a decision either to confine the cat to the house so I'd set up a cat litter or not let cat have access to the house. It really does smell so I can imagine the work she'll have to do cleaning down all furniture etc to get rid of it. The cat is soft and doesn't guard her territory and one cat that I know of comes in and eats from her bowl hence why I need to go every day.
Yes, there does seem to be some raving parties in there. This is the first time it's like this but her absences must be giving these cats confidence....

If it were my friend I would probably just clean up as much as I could and get some fabrize for the smell and confine kitty in doors with a litty tray until she gets back with some out-side excusions while I'm in the house if she's lucky. I definitely wouldn't think it would be worth bothering my mate out as you can deal with it yourself.
