Bullfinch responsible for burglary?

I posted on here about a bullfinch tapping on my windows and ended up having to close the shutters. Well, last Friday I was burgled (came across them in the bedroom) and I'm nearly sure that the fact the shutters were shut (something I very rarely do) made them think I was away. Wonder how this would stand in court!! LOL Main thing I wasn't hurt and they left peacefully, though I do admit with jewellery and my English money.

Maybe the bull finch was warning you. They do say a bird tapping on the window is a bad sign ... after a bullfinch tapped on our window for a few days running we had an expected death in the family. Haven't seen the bird since, that was about five years ago. Sorry, dont want to worry you coccinelle that's why I didn't mention it in my last thread x

But on saying that, if the bullfinch hadn't been tapping in the first place you wouldn 't have closed the shutters !!

Ah, smurfchops if only I'd known.... I opened them up again and the bird does come back occasionally but not as insistent.
Yes, avater, was able to give registration number and description to the gendarmes. Roms in my opinion.

Rowanwitch it's always the same one which comes. There must be a nest across the road and it's defending it.
It was more of a shock than frightening, maidup as even though some things were strange about the house I was far from thinking of finding someone inside.

perhaps the bird sees its own reflection in your window and thinks its another bird? bullfinches are saft

coccinelle - I am so impressed that you can be so calm about burglary. You found the burglars in your bedroom? Omigod, I would be in hysterics. You are a very brave lady.

But you don't think that the bullfinch might have been 'casing the joint' for them, do you? x

That's a thought, they might be now employing birds to do their dirty work... it was just all so quick when I heard voices in there and they did come out and tried to tell me they were from the police...as if....

Poor you - how awful to find burglars actually in your house - glad you weren't harmed, although sorry for your loss of jewellery and money. It sounds as if you live abroad, do you? What a strange story - its an interesting one though, why not contact the daily mail, they like quirky little stories like this.

The Daily Mail?? No, thank you. They'd drag my private life into it ie recently widowed, on her own in France... they'd have a field day!!
