This afternoon my daughter announced she had become a vegetarian. She has just asked what is for tea and I told her I am making chicken fajitas. She has now decided she is no longer a vegetarian.
She was vegetarian for less than 3 hours. is this a record?

Ummm, I agree - very fickle
Am I right in thinking that she is an older teen? 3 hours is a long time for a fad that results in deprivation. As an animal lover I know that I should try to be a vegetarian, but as a realist and and omnivore I will keep on eating.

Wait until she hits university - they go weird there
LOL i remember being a vegetarian once, till my mum made bacon butties and told me i couldn't have one, soon changed my mind!! I love my meat too much to be one mmmm
Lol Dave...

I stopped eating meat when I was about 12. I didn't eat it again until my 20's. I still only it very small amounts and that's mainly because I've cooked it.

I eat lots of fish.
Mrs O, you should go the extra millimetre and give her the veggie option of peppers, onions and courgette. Seeing her face as you tuck into the same with the additional chicken/beef/ostrich will be an honourable position as you respect her choices in life and Miss O learns about sacrifice! ;-)
As I remind Frankie when he is annoying me "somewhere in the world they eat little cats like you and Merlin". No idea why I am posting that - but I have just said it to the kitties. :-)

wolf, you have just moved up into McFluff territory - the league of mad catwomen
I was already aware of the nonsense that is 'vegetarian bacon' ... but am struggling to conceive of eating Tofurky

I cant understand why veggies eat things like that

Right, I'm off to make a batch of my summer salsa and start cooking fajitas
Bonkers isn't it - I like veggie food & could cheerfully cut my meat intake down to once or twice a week - but eating "meat-a-like" makes no sense at all.
Meat substitutes are the work of the devil. I will never get my head around Quorn 'chicken breasts'.

Heather Whatsername-PaulMcCartney ex, opened a vegan restaurant that focused on meat substitute food rather than serving up delicious veg dishes. Not surprised it closed rather quickly....
Oh no, can't survive without a bacon sarnie, but wouldn't miss the rest
I've never tried a meat substitute.
I like Quorn, I find it very tasty. Asda do a lovely Quorn sweet and sour with rice.
quorn sausage rolls repeat on one, according to my son,who ate them by mistake when starving to death when I was at work
What is meat substitute made from ?
Polystyrene?
