I keep finding these small slithering creature's all over my flat, mainly in my bath but they are also in my kitchen cupboards and i caught one bombing it under the gap in the laminated flooring, i put the bath plug in my bath, thinking that they maybe coming up through that but they still end up in my bath so maybe they are appearing from somewhere else but ending up in my bath? i have just took a picture of one http:// i797.ph otobuck ...evo2 k7/ABCD 0001-3. jpg but i need to know where to release them as i dont want them dying if released in the wrong places. Anyone know what they are called? cheers. Kev

They are absolutely harmless. They like damp places. They don't do any damage, but obviously you want rid of them. Have you got a damp garage or shed. They should be OK.
It's nice that someone doesn't automaticall y step on things they don't want in the house, like spiders, silverfish, etc. Well done. Kev.

Haha it wasn't so hard afterall ladybird, thanks for the gravatar mention x Aww he is my little buddy, Tom, luvs his food and can eat for Britain, he is a right toughie and has many battle scars and torn ears but is king of the cat's in the road! ha, he is not officially my cat and belongs to a neighbour over the road originally but i think he has picked me as his new adopted dad. haha i guess he enjoy's the best of both world's! ha he gets bloody spoilt here, brushed, front lined, fed, nice bed for him etc, ha. He is a very light ginger in colour, in fact he looks cream coloured to look at, ive never seen a cat like him before. He is the main reason i dont wanna move to be honest, because i would miss him soooooo much and i know the feeling would be mutual so im trapped!! ha x
I was plagued by silverfish for years before I moved, they seemed to be in the downstairs bathroom only. My cats used to love chasing and eating them (they're not fussy eaters!) but their presence is a sign of damp, they are harmless in the main but they do destroy books and such. Maybe your adopted puss could have a go at the little beggars, well since he's ambushed you and made you his slave why not?
Wow snags i think this may be a new break through, i agree with you totally that they look more like firebrat's than silverfish, i haven't even checked out the firebrats info yet and i am deading doing so as their name alone sounds quite intimidating! ha will check them out after this, many thanks for the find tho, im 99.9% certain your correct! ;)
nungate i really could't let Tom go to town on them lol, im totally hardcore when it come's to any creature's great an small being hurt, i was sunbathing in my mums garden last week and i seen a green fly fly into a spider's web an get tangled up, i only went an bloody freed the bugga because i felt sorry for it! haha thats how bad i am! hehe my family say that im too much and maybe i am but i have no regret's! ha ha ;)

Snags i am now 55/45 in favour of Silverfish as i have just read that Firebrats love the heat and to be by ovens and heater's, but my flat is the total opposite! no heater's in it and i never have the oven on as i use a halogen oven, but saying that, i do find them in my Kitchen food cupboard and in my living room as well as the bathroom.
