driving out this morning doing 30 mph in a 30 zone for some unknown reason a large multicoloured van with blue lights on the roof pulled out in front of me. As I got a little closer Icould read the bit about cctv and anpr.About 100yds further on the van turned left without any indication. On the back just below the windows a notice said "Essex Police keeping road casualties down". Now does anybody know are police vehicles fitted with indicators and are the drivers shown how to use them if they are?

I live in Essex as well baza but have yet to see this van.
Will keep my eyes open.
It doesn't sound like the driver is doing much to promote the message on the van though.

I live in the south and can confirm that many police vehicles are seemingly no longer fitted with indicators.

I have also noted that learner drivers do not need to use indicators and can run red lights too.

The learner driver is getting so bad I'm considering contacting the local testing station.

the vehicle pulled out from the bridge to old leigh and then went into leigh on sea station, perhaps they were looking for a cafe, so beware when driving in south essex. Watch out theres a copper about.
I like it not when a small coach pulls up & parks on a double yellow line, its occupants traffic wardens in uniform all get out and write tickets for other motorists also parked on single or double lines, seen this happen in Tunmarsh Lane.Plaistow East London.
