A name for a Jack Russell????

Hi,

Im getting a jack russell pup in about 5 weeks and want a really good name for him, hes a tan and white dog.....has anyone got any suggestions i quite like unusual names or famous dog names like dougal....

Hello there waterbearer - indeed you do like unusual names, and my, what a strikingly seductive one WaterBearer is!!!! Well, to your question, I once knew a very wise, very popular young man who said there was only one name for a male Jack Russell - that is Axel, as in axel Rose, but spelt Acksell, hence, taking the last 3 and 4 letters respectively of the breed of the dogs name jACK rusSELL, perfect! Such a wealth of knowledge, and so unique he was, I wonder where that young hunk of a guy is nowadays....

My dog is called Fly and it really suits her, would suit a cheeky Jack Russell too, and my next dog will be called Chewy.  Feel free to use one of these!

My aunt's neighbours have a Jack Russell called Big Dog! He's a tiny wee dog, although already adult, and the name suits his big personality so well.

you are very sure about ur suggestion it is one of the best ideas that i have heard yet although im not quite sure........ and even if i didnt choose that name i would explain to people that i once had a suggestion of a fine young man etc etc..........thanks your much obliging....;-)

Smudge- thanks for your reply i had a black, white and tan jack russell for 15 years but he sadly died in December and he was called Jack....bless him!!! I quite like the name murphy or nacho what d'ya think??

Like FP, my husband thinks Nipper is an appropriate name for a Jack Russell. He also mentioned Bert after Bertram Russell the campaigner! -x-

We had a Jack Russell called Max when I was younger and my friend had one called Sparky. I always liked the name Sparky because it describes their nature very well.
